Nativity scene figures from Tesero in northern Italy's Trent region have been lent to the Vatican for its annual display in St. Peter's Square. The life-size figures are sculpted by Tesero artists out of local spruce trees. The Nativity scene in St. Peter's Square will be unveiled Dec. 24 and remain in the square until the Feb. 2 feast of the Presentation of the Lord.

Card.Keeler was injured an accident in Italy that killed another priest and injured a third, the Archdiocese of Baltimore said. The red hat with white fur trimming is known in Italian as the 'camauro.' It was popular among pontiffs in the 17th century. More recently, it was used by Pope John XXIII, who was also buried with it in 1963.
